Between March 6-7, 2025, eight students from the Mathias Corvinus Collegium (MCC) were granted an opportunity to delve into the economic, social, cultural, and political landscape of Central Asian Kazakhstan, a nation with a rapidly evolving economy and considerable economic potential. This opportunity was facilitated through MCC's training programs. On the first day of the two-day training, the students visited the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Hungary, where they gained insight into the economic and cultural life of Kazakhstan. The subsequent day, the students delved deeper into the economic, social, and geopolitical landscape of Kazakhstan and the broader Central Asian region through a series of presentations.
The students of the International Relations School of Mathias Corvinus College (MCC), organized by Csaba Moldicz, Head of the MCC International Relations School and Head MCC Center for International Economy Workshop, paid a study visit to the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Budapest. This visit was an integral component of the training program meticulously designed by MCC, offering the students a transformative and enlightening experience, providing a unique opportunity to learn about Kazakhstan's culture, history, and diplomatic affairs. During the visit, the students were provided with a comprehensive overview of Kazakhstan's political situation, foreign policy priorities, and cultural heritage through an informal roundtable discussion. The discussion was interpreted by Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Hungary, Saparbekuly Abzal. The students participated in intensive and interactive discussions with embassy officials, which provided an in-depth exploration of the intricacies of Kazakhstan's geopolitical landscape and economic situation.
The visit commenced with a cordial reception by the embassy staff, who provided the students with an overview of Kazakhstan's history, traditions, and current developments. The students then engaged in a presentation by First Secretary and Consul Zhylkaidarov Yermek, who offered a comprehensive overview of Kazakhstan's current and future tourism industry. The presentation culminated in an exposition on the nation's economic priorities.
The educational experience was further enriched by a visit to the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Hungary, where students gained insight into the daily operations of a diplomatic mission, the intricacies of international relations, and the pivotal role of embassies in fostering bilateral relations.
The visit reached its zenith with a cultural experience, during which the embassy staff extended a traditional Kazakh meal to the students and their companions.
The visit to the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Hungary was a valuable and enlightening experience for the students, broadening their understanding of international relations and fostering cross-cultural exchange.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Hungary for their contributions to the organization of the event.
